Based in the heart of the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana tri-state area, we are deeply rooted in our community and driven by a passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and service. Every slab of wood we use is locally and sustainably sourced from within thirty miles—salvaged from tree removals, private properties, and developments. If we didn’t reclaim these beautiful hardwoods, they would end up in landfills. Instead, we transform them into timeless works of art.

Custom Legacy Furniture
We specialize in designing and building forever furniture—pieces that are meant to last for generations. Whether you are envisioning a live-edge dining table, custom desk, countertop, island top, bar, end table, or conference table, we will create it with care and craftsmanship. Our legacy furniture is crafted from locally sourced hardwoods or from slabs you provide. We kiln dry and surface the wood in our shop to ensure strength and durability, then collaborate with you on every detail, so that the final piece reflects your style and holds meaning for years to come. Kiln Drying
Drying is one of the most important steps in turning logs into usable wood. Properly dried wood is stronger, more stable, less likely to warp or crack, and easier to work with. It also weighs less, which makes it easier to transport and handle. At Ohio Wood Connection, we use vacuum kiln drying, a cutting edge method that allows us to dry wood faster, more efficiently, and with greater control. In this process, slabs are placed in an airtight vessel with heat applied via aluminum plates. You can drop off your slabs at our showroom during business hours and we will provide an estimate for drying time. Once in a kiln, this is typically three to four weeks. Learn More
Surfacing
Surfacing is the flattening and smoothing slabs to create an even, stable surface ready for further woodworking or finishing. You can supply your own slabs for this service. We use a custom-built surfacer that can handle pieces up to eight feet wide and twenty feet long. The surfacer uses a floating head with hydraulically controlled metal cutters that move back and forth for a consistent, clean cut. This ensures uniform thickness and flatness, which is critical for high-quality woodworking. You may supply your own slabs for this service and we will provide a turnaround time estimate at drop-off. We carry an inventory of kiln-dried, live-edge wood slabs for sale to woodworkers, DIYers, designers, and builders. Whether you need one slab for a personal project or are sourcing wood in bulk, we offer hardwoods that are durable, beautiful, and locally sourced. Our selection includes more than twenty species of hardwoods such as Black Walnut, Oak, Maple, Cherry, Elm, Sycamore, and more. These wood slabs are all sourced from within thirty miles of our shop.
